I remember when I was child I didn’t like so
much English, because I didn’t understand it. I mean, I knew the colors, the numbers
and some vocabulary but I wasn’t interested in learning the language. In my
first school I didn’t listen to my teachers, and they were not much worried
about that.
But then I went to another school, and the English
was more difficult and if I didn´t understand my marks were going to go really
bad. So my mom noticed this, and asked my aunt to teach me classes and in this
way, getting good marks. She forced me to learn a lot of verbs and its
conjugations, so I started to understand.
At the same time, I listened to music in English,
so I searched the meaning of the lyric in Spanish and I could learn more
vocabulary. When I was in high school I didn´t need my aunt’s help anymore
because I could handle the language and it was easy for me and most importantly,
I really liked it.
In the last time, I’ve watched many series and
I learnt expressions and vocabulary that don’t teach you in the school, I can
watch a movie in English without the subtitles and it’s amazing for me, because
I realized that everything that I learnt
in the past it was worth it.
I like to learning different languages –now I’m
in French classes- I think it’s important not only because “English is the
global language”, but because at the end, you can be more, not only get settle
for one language. If you have the chance, I think you have to take it.
